Allow me to apply a discount to a client's invoice. For example, the line item might read something like "25% discount" and show the amount that is deducted from the total.
Add the capability to include subsidised rates to invoices. The invoice should reflect the normal rate as well. So when a client is subsidised and provided with Low-Bono services, the normal rate, subsidised fee and subsidised amount (normal rate - subsidised fee) is reflected. The same can be done for Pro-Bono.
The ability to track this will allow organisations who provide low-bono and pro-bono services to reflect their social impact.
I agree. We need a way to record a day-of-service payment discount for those clients who are not using their insurance. Right now, the system we are using (a write off) impacts the superbill in a way that looks like we are changing our rates. As someone else mentioned, it's important to be able to show everyone is being charged the same amount. We need to be able to subtract money from an invoice (whether that is a negative dollar amount on a service line "day-of-service payment discount" or a payment function designated as a discount) that doesn't change the rate of the service. And it needs to show on the superbill for out-of-network clients.
We offer some clients subsidies. It'd be great if there were a discount payment code option in TheraNest so we can record a discount on an invoice and then track (generate a report) for all discounted sessions or amounts.

For out of network billing at times there may be a discount applies to a standard fee. The client still needs the service submitted to insurance and coded or a superbill BUT the service was discounted. At present, we cannot create to services for the same CPT code which may confuse insurance companies when the form is sent in (it can say charge 200, paid 150 for example but insurances may not realize client will never pay the difference and reimburse the client for more than they will ever pay). This is a BIG problem. Being able to create two services with the same CPT code would solve it or being able to apply a discount to a standard service --which will then adjust on the form).
It's important to be able to show everyone is being charged the same amount and sometimes a fee is reduced for various reasons. This shows a standard billing amount across all clients and allows an accepted reduced fee to be shown. right now for example, if someone bills out of network and gets a discount on a 90837 (done as write off) the superbill will show the charge/paid amount as the same number. However, if the therapists submits the bill for the client it will charge charged amount as standard and paid amount as lower which is a problem because insurance thinks client is going to pay more towards the bill.
the ability to enter discounts individually for a patient that way it automatically shows up in ledger when billing as opposed to having to "write-off" the remaining balance each time you bill
