Ohio law now requires that all notes written by dependent licensees are reviewed by the supervisor. This is different than approving notes or co-signing notes. There is no easy way in theranest to track what session notes have been reviewed or to notify the supervisor when a note has been signed and in need of review.

Agree. And allow supervisor to "reject" a note.

The current supervision system is not all that functional. A supervisee should complete a note, sign it and submit it for approval. Then the supervisor gets a notification. Then the supervisor can reject the note or accept it as is. If rejected, send it back to supervisee and repeat above. If accepted the supervisor can sign off and the note is locked.

Yes, PLEASE fix this! It has happened multiple times now that something about a note needs to be tweaked, then the note needs to be resigned. It shows up in my list of notes needing signature (I’m a supervisee), but if I sign it first, my site administrators tell me my supervisor can’t sign it. This feels like an unnecessary restriction. Surely it shouldn’t matter if nothings gets changed about the note.

Is there a way that as a supervisor signing off on a note that the clinician with the case signs first and then the supervisor is the co-signer. Also a feature to send back note with a comment to tell the clinician what to change.

This idea was shared in 2019 and it still hasn't been addressed???? Thats's a bit ridiculous. The current workflow allows for lack of compliance.

Would it be possible to create a way to save a note so that it can be applied to all group members, but then be able to go back and edit particular clients? Then send the note for signature approval to supervisor? Our staff sees multiple clients in group sessions and applying the note to all works great for problem/intervention/plan but some clients need additional details added. So when applying to all and saving, it automatically sends for supervisor signature. It would be nice to select when to send it for signature.

YES! This creates so many issues. If the supervisee saves it automatically flags the supervisor to sign, which means the supervisee either has to risk leaving notes in draft form until done, or the supervisor has to risk signing when a note wasn't completed. It would make so much more sense for the supervisee to sign, then the supervisor is notified they need to sign.

Currently, I am getting email alerts for Saved DA's and Progress Notes. I only want to get an email alert for DONE and Signed DA's and Progress Notes done by students who I supervise.

There are some great suggestions in this list of ideas. The current supervision system is not all that functional. A supervisee should complete a note, sign it and submit it for approval. Then the supervisor gets a notification. Then the supervisor can edit the note or accept it as is. If edited, send it back to supervisee and repeat above. If accepted the supervisor can sign off and the note is locked.

This needs to be addressed immediately. By not having a signature on the note and not having an alert occur when the note is approved TheraNest is making us out of compliance with documentation requirements.

Yes, please! I just failed some of our Medicaid audit bc there was a time delay between when a note was created and when the original therapist (registered intern) signed their own note, awaiting an approval from Their supervisor.

I agree--as a supervisee this makes the workflow harder for both supervisor and supervisee. Please work on improving this. It would be really helpful to have a 'save' button for supervisees to save their work as they are working on the note. Then a 'sign for review' button that signs for the supervisee and sends to the supervisor for review. All the while keeping track of the status of these notes (supervisee writing, supervisor needs to sign, edits from supervisee needed, or completed note) so that notes don't fall through the cracks!

When we receive notifications that our supervisee has a note that is "awaiting our review," the note could still be in progress and not completed therefore, it's hard to tell what notes are ready for the supervisor's signature and which notes the supervisee is still working on. Is there any way to tell the difference between the two? And a way to put a different status marker on notes still in progress versus notes completed by the supervisee? It's a time waster for us having to login to the note to see if it's been fully completed and ready for our signature. To combat this we are having to ask the supervisees' to send us a list of completed notes at the end of the week because the system isn't notifying us that they are fully ready for review. We have reviewed the knowledge base articles and can't seem to find an answer. It seems there is no way to differentiate between the two statutes and we feel this would be a very helpful, time saving feature for all if added.

THerNest, please make it possible for a supervisee/clinician to sign their own note and then have a place for the Supervisor to sign the note after reviewing it.

This makes most sense to have a place for two signatures: the supervisor and the supervisee/clinician. It's very frustrating that Theranest doesn't have this function.

Current system creates duplication in workflow. Proposed changes: 1. Supervisee writes and signs note, places in Notes awaiting approval. 2. Notice alerts Supervisor to check Notes awaiting approval. 3. Supervisor reviews note 4a. If corrections are needed, there should be a reject option with text box to indicate what needs correction. Supervisee edits, resubmits. note back to awaiting approval. supervisor signs 4b. If approved, supervisor approves and signs not

When a therapist under supervision finishes a note, allow them to sign or mark the note done to allert supervisor its done and ready to review. Do not lock the note until supervisor says its done or has signed.

I would like our interns to be able to sign the notes before we do but still receive a report as their supervisor on what they have signed. Once I receive this report I would like to be able to sign the notes after they do. Currently it is the reverse order and is really impacting the turn around time we have to keep with having notes signed.

Upvote! As a supervisee, I would like my signature to be what triggers my supervisor that a note is complete and ready for them to sign. I've had inconsistent results with draft notes being lost, so I'd like to be able to save the note even if it's still a work in progress, then sign it when it's done and ready for my supervisor to sign. There also doesn't seem to be a simple way to track which notes I need to cosign via the client's notes page. On the signature report page it shows notes I haven't sign, then in order to sign a note from there it takes 3 steps for me to cosign it- click on view note details, click here to sign, then actually sign it. Then it takes me back to the client's note page, where the other notes in their file don't indicate whether I still need to cosign. Would really appreciate a more straightforward workflow for this situation!
