When a client cancels, it would help if in my agenda when I change the appointment status to canceled/no show/rescheduled, a note and invoice could auto populate. For example, when I change it to canceled, it has an option for note so I Can put a reason, But then it still shows that I have a missing progress note and invoice for the person. It would be great to simplify that process where a client cancels, I click a button to add a chart note (that won't get auto populated from my last session note), and click a button if it's a charge or no charge for the invoice all in the same place. Ideally, if the note goes to the "contact log" section, to allow documentation of the canceled apt. This would allow me to carry on quickly after a cancelation, rather than spending time doing notes and invoices for clients that I don't get paid for.
Ideally, the note would have easy auto populated options for - attempts made to contact the client, plan (rescheduled, canceled and ct. will call to reschedule, or terminated), along with a section for further details. Then options for to auto populate the invoice showing fee/no fee for missed apt.
Yes, and when you are going to do the next note, now you have to start all over again. Plus, if you decide to not write a note, you get it as a missing note and it is just a mess. The notes should have a menu, like Ashley commented so we can choose a case manager note, contact note, etc...
I agree! This is very mis-leading and quite confusing. There should be a way to change the progress note into a cancelation note/contact note and assign it to the DOS. This is crazy to me that the system does not allow this. Previous EHRs that I've worked with allow you to CHOOSE the kind of note you wish to write for the DOS (ie. telephone note, client contact note, progress note, psychotherapy note, etc).
