Allow me to hide canceled appointments in my iCal.

I have just started syncing my ical and it's very confusing because canceled and rescheduled appointments show up and there is no indicator that it's not an active appointment.
I am frequently confused when looking at my phone's synced calendar by canceled appointments because they appear like any other scheduled appointment. Can you remove canceled appointments from the ical sync like you did with the Google calendar sync?
