If a client contacts me through the client portal while I'm away, allow me to set up an automatic out-of-office reply and the option to have those messages forwarded to another staff member.
In most email and messaging systems, you can forward your messages to someone else or put an automatic responding message in the system to anyone sending a message that we are unavailable for whatever length of time (like for vacation) so things do not get missed. Can that be done in the portal messaging system?
Absolutely, as much as I can relay to clients that I will be unreachable in preparation for away time it feels ethical and respectful to have a message they would get that reminds them of that (i'm not ignoring them) and provides resources or directions on if they need assistance before i return.
It would be helpful to be able to forward your supervisor a message received from a patient. This is helpful if a supervisee needs feedback - this would then probably require a staff inbox vs inbox with patient messages.
I vote for this feature! This is very important! We have the option to set up an automatic reply on our emails. However, it's missing in the client portal platform. This would tremendously helpful for clients.
This feature would be very helpful to be able to take time away with more ease, and to know my clients would be supported with information about delays in responses.
This is an important feature for client safety and possibly therapist liability, to let clients know when they are away from the office and not responding to messages, and who to contact instead. The overall practice (e.g. administrator) should be able to set messages for the practice (e.g. a standing auto reply or the entire office is closed) AND individual therapists should be able to set their own out of office (which admins can override). This is also important when a therapist leaves a practice, for an auto reply to be sent to their clients who might message before the case is reassigned or archived.
This feature seems so important for client and clinician safety, but also for clinicians to feel confident in their ability to take time off without worrying that clients are not being responded to! Thank you for considering.
It would be great it we can set up an automatic reply in the client portal message platform whenever we are out of the office. This is something important for us, especially when client want immediate assistance so that our automatic reply can say something like "I'm currently out of the office. If this is an emergency, please go to your nearest hospital or call 911..."
Please add an autoreply feature to the patient portal. This isn't just a convenience for letting people know a therapist is away. Increasingly practices that use electronic communication use autoreply to let patients know that the portal is not a way to reach a therapist if they are in immediate crisis - while also providing instructions on what to do if a patient is in fact in crisis.
This would be incredibly helpful for many reasons. But it also allow resources such as support line numbers to also be shared if its needed and you are not in the office.
Please update and let us know if this is in process.
It would be hugely helpful (and would protect the therapist) to include an auto-response feature to email. Ideally, I would like to be able to have an auto-response set-up to let clients know when I am out of the office on vacation. If a client contacts me when I am on vacation and they are in a mental health crisis, there is no way for them to know that I am unavailable to help them.
I would love an away message feature in the client portal to allow my clients to know when I am and am not accessible to them. This would be particularly helpful for clients to attempt to contact counselors over the holidays to let them know when we will be back in the office!
This would be a great feature. Clinicians use secure messaging because it is HIPAA compliant. When a clinician is out-of-office, it would be helpful to set an automated message to notify clients. It also supports the self-care that all clinicians need.
Hello,
I use Theranest's messaging as my main communication with clients. I really need an option to turn on an automatic response (eg. out of office response) so that if they message me and I am away from internet service (eg camping) they know that and aren't left hanging.
Thanks,
Allison
For the messages to auto response to clients, so 1. they know you have received a message 2. To remind them if you are out of the office. 3. To remind them of emergency contacts if you are away on vacation.
