Add ability to create progress notes and view linked notes from client Appointments list

I wish when i clicked on a clients profile and selected appointments, it would show if a note was missing and allow me to enter it from there.

Add "Create Note" to Actions on Appointments. This would permit the user to add a progress note for the associated appointment as they update the status of the app0ointment. I appreciate the amazing updates over the years. You all are an amazing team. See actions column in photo.

The current Progress Note workflow is very inefficient. We all know that notes take time, time which is essential for our work, meaning we have to allocate time away from clients, or away from our out-of-work time. Currently, the fastest way to create a note is to do so from the Agenda. This creates a note within the case that appointment is attached to. With the addition of customizable Progress Notes, this is good. The workflow options currently are: Agenda > Select Date > 'Add Progress Note' > Select New or Copy Last > Select Progress Note Template from pop-up > Fill note > Save / & Sign / Next Appointment > End at either Signed Note or Calendar after new appointment. Search for Client > 'Notes' > (Select Case if needed) > Copy from Last / New >> As above. Reports > Missing Progress Notes > 'Add Progress Note' >> As Above. If you wanted to fill multiple Progress Notes from a specific day / week, this will add many redundant clicks. These include either a) Clicking Agenda > Selecting the date > Scrolling / locating client & 'Add Progress Note' > Selecting the template. While this may only take a minute, it requires the same/nearly the same user input over and over again. I think that implementing a specific workflow for addressing Progress Notes in a serial fashion would be ideal. Begin with the Begin Progress Note Session' Button in the top right header bar. This shows 6 options: 'From most recent', 'From Today', From This Week', 'From Last 30 Days', 'From Custom', and Settings. Behavior of each: 'Form most recent' - Begins progress note serial entry, beginning with the most recent not created / not signed; backwards in time. 'From Today' - Begins progress note serial entry from the first not created / not signed today. 'From Last Week' - Begins progress note serial entry beginning with the user's selected 'First Day of the Week' (under calendar settings) for the current week, with the first not created / not signed. 'From Last 30 Days' Begins progress note serial entry with the oldest not created / not signed note within the last 30 days. 'From Custom' - Opens the Missing Progress Notes' report. Has options to include / not include No Call No Shows, Late Cancel, Cancelled Rescheduled. When 'Add Progress Note' this opens that note, when completed, it returns the user to the Missing Progress Notes Report with refreshed content. 'Settings' - Includes the defaults for: Use a single progress note template or prompt for selection?; Complete notes with Save Draft / Sign / or New Appointment?. Serial Progress Notes Workflow: 'Begin Progress Notes Session' (as suggested above) > Select time period > Opens note based on settings for a Client > Fill note > Save > (Based on Settings) Next Note / Signing Page / Next Appointment > (If previous was Sign / Next Appointment) Opens Next Note. I believe this would also help those of us who are more distractable flow from one note to another seamlessly. I hope this invites discussion and to hear how others complete their notes and if this would be useful.

Agreed! I'm not sure why we can only click on "Add Progress Note" from the Agenda, but not from the actual calendar appointment... Too many clicks are required to do this simple task!

When I want to create a progress note for an appointment that has been several months in the past, I often have to click through the calendar to get to the date on the agenda to then go in and create a progress note using an existing note. I would like to be able to go to a client's appointment history and have a link associated with each appointment that allows for me to create a progress note for that appointment if a note has not already been created.

It would be nice if on a client's appointment page I could see if I've written a note. I do use the missing notes report, but to have it in the client record would be handy. Also, adding if an invoice had been generated would be helpful too.

My idea is to add the option to create a Progress Note under the Client Record/Appointments Tab. I often get behind on notes and it would be easier if your could add the progress note there rather than having to scroll through the agenda to find the appointment. Also If it could show the invoice status that would be helpful as well.

Please allow notes to be written from client's appointment page. Currently there is no way to see from a client profile whether or not a progress note was missed.

When viewing the client's list of appointments, show if there is a note and invoice attached, similar to how it appears on the Agenda page.

When in client under appointments, it would be helpful to be able to add notes. There is a column entitled Action. Could Add Note be added here?

The number of completed notes done for that specific client so I don't have to count them to see if they match the number of sessions! (:

On the appointments on the left hand side under the clients name dob and primary insurance it would be nice if once you pulled that area up under the appointments tab you could go to that appointment and add notes from this section rather than doing it in the calendar under the agenda area. It would be nice to have it in both spots for each individual client.

It would be great if you could consider adding a link to create a progress note from the appointments list in a client profile. It would actually be most helpful if each appointment had its own link to create a note for that appointment that is already scheduled by clicking on the scheduled appointment from the appointments page without having to go to the notes page, click add progress note, and re-enter the date of service on the notes page. I find myself frequently toggling between the appointment page and the notes page to verify that I'm on top of all the notes. If I can't recall the date of service that I am writing a note for, I end up having to go back to the appointment page to first find the date of service and then go back to the notes pages. I do appreciate the Missing Notes Report but again that is going back and forth between multiple pages and creates a bit of a cumbersome workflow process. Thank you.

Also a suggestion would be to instead of having to go the date on the calendar and under agenda to create a progress note it would be a lot better to be able to go to that individual person and go to appointments in their file and add a progress note for them from there otherwise we have to go back and figure out what day the appointment was on and there is just a lot of back and forth with it.

When we go into client's appointment history and it shows all the ones they've kept in the past, we should be able to access note templates from there (similar to how it is in the missed notes report) so that we can write them all from one place.

This would be incredibly helpful. When I know I am missing notes, I have to toggle back and forth between the appointment and notes screens, then go find the agenda for the date of the missing note to make sure that everything gets linked up. I am constantly afraid that I overlooked a note and this would be so easily fixed if it was indicated on the client's appointment screen next to the appointment status. (A task list would be additionally helpful for this)

easy way to complete old progress notes. Generating reports is so time consuming and you still have to generate the report again and again for each appointment. In the appointments tab it would be great to add a section for progress notes next to each appointment that we could click on and complete the note. The best would be if we could just click on notes and all missing notes would show up and we could complete them from there. Thanks

It would be helpful to be able to add a note from the "appointments" Tab under client. - it lists all appointments and it would be nice to be able to add notes directly from there and see which appointments are missing notes.
