Allow me to link place of service codes with service types so when I select that service type when creating an appointment the location code is automatically updated.
Please add place of service codes as field for service types. This way users do not have to manually adjust. This particularly an issue for telehealth when not using theranest telehealth app.
Office Ally allows you to create different service types linked to various place of service codes. I thought this would be standard when switching to TN. Furthermore, if I don't subscribe to TN's telehealth platform, the checkbox for "telehealth" on the appointment field doesn't even appear! I have to manually change each date of service by opening invoices individually after they have been created and change the POS code there!! This is utterly ridiculous!
I agree this is really important to add. If you utilize a different telehealth service, you need to edit the place of service after invoices are automatically created.
Different patients have different Place of Service codes depending on the ins company. Additionally, in some instances, Tax ID for one ins co may be different than Tax ID for another. These should be fully customizable under service types, rather than simple global defaults. This is not a “one size fits all” situation and is VERY inefficient when it’s time to bill the insurances…results in MUCH wasted time. Add a Tax ID and a Place of Service selection that can be customized under EACH service type—much more efficient!
It would save time and effort if the system could automatically set the place of service to telehealth (02) when the service includes "95" as that stands for telehealth.
I am surprised this isn't getting more attention from you. I have been in this business for over 35 years and this is a basic billing need and should not be something assigned system wide as default! So many errors occur as a result of this problem area. Please move this toward the top of the improvement list!
The PLACE OF SERVICE code has ZERO to do with an organization. The INSURANCE companies determine what code should be used. The POS should be linked to either the PAYERS or the SERVICE CODES.
When creating services, it would be helpful to be able to template the location code. Other programs allow this option and it would save a lot of time for billing. For example, we cannot make the location code for telehealth visits automatically be 02.
