Add preferred name field for staff

Allow me to enter a preferred name for staff. Sometimes our therapists use nicknames or other names and that's what the client knows, so it would be nice if appointment reminders reflected this.

I would like to be able to add my preferred name in my profile as a clinician. I understand the need to use our legal names for billing purposes but this is leading to confusion amongst my clients and uncomfortable for me. I am glad that my clients have this feature and as a clinician I need access to it as well.

There are far more therapists now that use a preferred name instead of their legal name when operating in an agency setting, and the inability to input your preferred name within Theranest can lead to conflict and microaggressions, however unintended. The feature would need to allow you to input a preferred name that would be viewable agency wide, the ability for clients to see your legal name for licensing and policy requirements of traceability, and also allow you to select your billing name in case you need to use your legal name for billing purposes.

Echoing all of the below - our trans staff deserve to be given the option for their true name to go out on all correspondence, just like our clients!

As a nonbinary therapist myself, this would be amazing! I really appreciate that Theranest makes it so easy to put in preferred names for Cleints, regardless of needing legal name for insurance billing, so I would hope that we can do that for staff as well.

Please!! If we expect our medical records to be accommodating to our trans clients, why can't we expect the same for staff?

I agree this would be HUGE. We have therapists on staff who are trans, and have to see their dead name-and are forced to have clients see it as well. Please add this feature!

I agree. I would like my staff and clients to see my preferred/nickname name "Drew". Client's and staff see what is listed in my profile page, which I would like to remain consistent for license, credentialing and billing. This appears as "John" my fist name. I like how Clients can have preferred name and believe TheraNest users should as well.

The ability to put "preferred names" for staff to be more TGNC inclusive for providers who have not yet changed their names. I understand that their legal name will need to be used for billing, but it would be great to be able to change the appointment reminder information.

Yes, please, I am the director of a learning clinic and would like for my staff (intern clinicians) to use their preferred name. I am so pleased that you have this for clients. Thank you

I'm a therapist who is transgender and it is really triggering to me to have to see my dead name everywhere in TheraNest. I know this is for billing reasons, but if there was an option for "Preferred Name" like there is for clients so that my dead name no longer displayed that would be wonderful. Please!

For clinicians we need to have preferred names shown to the client and legal names on documents going to the insurance company. This is important to those of us with diverse gender identities.

This is critically important for our practice, as we employ many transgender clinicians. The name on someone's practice license doesn't always match the name they actually use, and the absence of a preferred name field for staff forces us to out people to the rest of the staff and to their clients. We need the functionality to use the staff member's legal name on insurance claims, but their preferred name literally everywhere else.

Agree, having to clarify at the time of every appointment why they get documentation with my legal name and letting them know my preferred name can be a little frustrating to have to do numerous times a week

I love how we are able to list a client's preferred name in their chart, and it would be awesome to have that same feature for therapists who also have a preferred name, especially if they are able to bill under their legal name, and have a preferred name go out to their clients.

This, 100%. Particularly among the LGBTQQi2S+ community, this is culturally competent. Clients do not know clinician legal and dead-names and it's confusing for everyone.

I'm curious if we could have a preferred name field for staff so that reminder messages can use the name I go by even though I have to file insurance using my legal name?

It would be nice to have a staff member "preferred name" as well. All my clients know me as Cherie, but they get appointment reminders for appoinments with Cheryl. Worse yet, my colleague Hope Bell's legal name is Chastity H. Bell.... her clients would get reminders for "Chastity" and might think it's en error. Since this happens fairly frequently, it would be helpful to have the same option for staff to designate a name they go by. Please consider this. Thank you!!
